Miss Virginia has been in the early childhood field for 10 years and previously worked as a naturalist and environmental educator in the Midwest and on the East Coast.
Virginia received her B.A. Biology from Moorhead State University, MN and her M.S. Edu. Outdoor Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University.
She has a passion for blending her love of natural history and wildlife with teaching young minds through play and mindful experiences.
In her free time Virginia enjoys kayaking, cross country skiing, cooking, gardening, handcrafts, reading and working with her many pets. She enjoys life with her husband, James, and their teenage children, Gracie and Gabriel, who both attended Happy Days.
Miss Zoe is an Ely native and a Happy Days alumni herself. This is her first year of teaching preschool and she is looking forward to using her creativity to provide fun, hands-on learning experiences for her three and four-year-old students.
She earned her BA in History from the University of MN Duluth and her MN Elementary Teaching License from the College of St. Scholastica. In her spare time she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her four-year-old daughter, baking fancy desserts, creating artwork, running, and skiing.
